LET US CAST OFF THE SHACKLES

From the May 1963 issue of The Christian Science Journal

IT was Shakespeare who had one of his characters say,

So every bondman in his own hand bears
The power to cancel his captivity.

When we can realize that with Christian Science we have the ability to cast off the shackles of human sense if we want to, the problem at hand no longer seems so immense. Many have desired to possess the ability and understanding to overcome the problems facing them. We can rest assured that the God-given ability to know the truth is inherent in the spiritual man's consciousness because he reflects the one infinite consciousness, divine Mind, the source of all good. Paul tells us (II Cor. 3:5), "Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God."
