LOVE MADE PRACTICAL

From the June 1963 issue of The Christian Science Journal

CHRIST JESUS gave as one of the two great commandments (Mark 12:31), "Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself," but he did not stop at words. He healed the sick, regenerated the sinner, raised the dead, and sent his disciples out to do the healing works of Christ, Truth. This was proof of divine Love made practical.

As the revelation of Christian Science unfolded to Mrs. Eddy, she began to heal, taught others to do so, and then wrote the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health, which has healed thousands of individuals. This healing work shows Love made practical.

When it was revealed to our Leader that Truth and Love, if active in the consciousness of individuals, fit them to do the healing works of Christ, Truth, in the world, she did not stop there. She founded the Church of Christ, Scientist. The profound gratitude of thousands of followers whom Christian Science had healed, brought forth the funds with which to build the Original Mother Church edifice, and then its Extension. This is full evidence of Love made practical.
