THE WAY OF UNDERSTANDING

From the June 1963 issue of The Christian Science Journal

THERE is a way of life in which good prevails over evil, health over sickness, and joy over sorrow. Each individual who seeks this good way finds it when he learns to understand God, to be obedient to His will, and to trust in His good plan for everyone.

Isaiah saw this way as "the way of holiness," in which the redeemed would walk (35:8). He said (35:10), "They shall obtain joy and gladness, and sorrow and sighing shall flee away."

Christ Jesus saw it as the way of the cross, which leads to resurrection from matter, sin, and death. He said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6). He taught that to understand God is Life eternal and that this truth is a law which governs, protects, and blesses mankind every step of the way.
