The Scriptures are filled with promises; one of the more precious of these is that of the advent of the Messiah, who came to bring salvation for all mankind. This promise was given of old to men of great spiritual vision, who caught glimpses of the true nature of life and of the creator as Spirit.
Isaiah wrote with prophetic beauty of this coming (9:6, 7): "His name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end." This promise of the Messiah was gloriously fulfilled in the coming of Christ Jesus, the man who so consistently demonstrated the Christ-spirit that blind eyes were opened, and many were freed from the bondage of matter.
Understanding and demonstrating the divine Principle of all being, Christ Jesus has proved to be the greatest scientist who ever lived. He proved conclusively that humility before God is power before men. Through recognizing God alone as power, he demonstrated this power of good in healing all manner of sickness and disease, raising the dead, walking over the water, and stilling the tempest.
