Mrs. Eddy's explanation of God is the most wonderful gift given to the world since our Way-shower, Christ Jesus, was here. In answer to the question, "What is God?" she writes on page 465 of Science and Health, "God is incorporeal, divine, supreme, infinite Mind, Spirit, Soul, Principle, Life, Truth, Love." These seven synonyms enable anyone to see God as omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent good and man as His image and likeness by reflection, to see God as Principle and man as His idea.
My first healing, with the help of a practitioner, was an instantaneous one of abdominal pain. Later, just by studying Christian Science and with no particular work on these ills, I was quickly healed of hay fever and a lack of strength to do the things it was necessary to do. With the help of my husband, I was healed of common colds by losing my fear of them. Protection from harm, as well as freedom from physical ills, is obtained by one's knowing that, as Mrs. Eddy says in "Unity of Good" (p. 20):
"First: God never made evil.
"Second: He knows it not.
"Third: We therefore need not fear it."
