Testimonies of Healing

Toward the end of my university...

From the April 1965 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Toward the end of my university studies, I was in need of a summer job to obtain funds for further education. In spite of a severe labor surplus in my field, due to the recent cancellation of a very large military contract, I was guided into proper employment at a good salary. It was my first job. I began my work in it as a junior engineer by being given the specifications for a radar beacon system which the company had been developing. I was told to familiarize myself with them for a few days, and then I would be given a specific assignment.

This data was a mass of detailed, and often confusing, requirements which, even after three days of persistent reading, were just so much obscure verbiage to me.

I thought I was a student of Christian Science, but I can see now that I was only coasting and not really applying it very much. As a result, I was handled by animal magnetism, and I let in thoughts of fear regarding the outcome of it all. It was with much trepidation that I went to my supervisor and said that I was probably as ready as I'd ever be.
