When I was still quite a little girl, I was impressed by the marvelous healing of my grandmother. I had never known her when she was not ill and in bed, and I always had to keep very quiet whenever I was near her. She had been on a very strict diet for about twelve years.
One day a friend of hers gave her a copy of the French edition of The Herald of Christian Science. Since my grandmother was too ill to read it herself, my mother read it to her, and my mother saw right away that Science was the road to follow.
A lecture on Christian Science was then announced as being given in Paris. We lived far from Paris, and to go there meant quite a journey. My mother simply said, "If this is the truth, nothing can prevent me from attending that lecture." The numerous obstacles which seemed to array themselves against this project were overcome, and my mother was able to hear that lecture. No one in the family ever forgot the joy which radiated from her upon her return. She was truly transformed.
