God's Loving Care

From the December 1966 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Knowing the spiritual truths of God and of man's relationship to Him as His perfect reflection opens one's thought to the Father's loving care. The spiritual faculty of knowing transcends mere human optimism or hope; it is spiritual understanding, and it begins to develop in one's experience with the acceptance of Truth. At the point of this acceptance human belief in good may mingle with faith. However, the understanding and conviction of God's goodness are gained through daily demonstration of the truths of Christian Science.

This religion teaches that God's love for His wondrous creation sustains it throughout eternity. His love always has been and ever will be the nutrient and preserver of the spiritual universe, including His highest idea, man.

The Apostle John knew of the tender care of God and wished to share this knowledge with others. He communicated to mankind this message of care in the comforting words, "God is love."I John 4:16; Love's ever-present spiritual care is brought to human experience through Christ, Truth, and the Gospels tell of Christ Jesus' demonstration of this care in supplying the human need, whether the need was for food or for bodily or mental healing.
