Lecture Activity—A Right Activity

The members of a branch Church of Christ, Scientist, have the distinct privilege of presenting a Christian Science lecture to the community at least once every year. It brings the message of the Christ, Truth, into the community as practical and demonstrable.

Jesus' instructions to all who follow him were, "Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature."Mark 16:15; By providing in the Manual of The Mother Church for a Board of Lectureship, Mrs. Eddy, in the spirit of our Master's command, helped to make it possible for all people to know once again and understand the living Christ, of which all men are heirs.

Preparing for the lecture is a time for grateful rejoicing, because it is a time of spiritual growth and progress for each church member as well as for the Cause of Christian Science. Even Jesus saw that it was necessary for his followers to prepare the receptive thought for his message. In Luke we are told that he "sent them two and two before his face into every city and place, whither he himself would come."Luke 10:1;
