From the April 1966 issue of The Christian Science Journal

I wish to express my gratitude for the workable understanding that Christian Science gives of God, good, as the source of all true being and of man as His image and likeness. How glad I am to know that as our dear Leader, Mrs. Eddy, tells us, "Tireless Being, patient of man's procrastination, affords him fresh opportunities every hour" (Christian Healing, p. 19)! May I take this opportunity now to say, "Thank You, God, for this wonderful Comforter, this divine understanding which restores to humanity the same healing Christ, Truth, which Jesus taught and practiced."

Outstanding in my experience during the time I attended a Christian Science Sunday School were the healing of a throat condition, the overcoming of self-consciousness and timidity, and improvement in my schoolwork. Failing grades in algebra gave place to excellent marks when I comprehended that God is the only Mind that man reflects and therefore intelligence was mine to express.

Upon leaving the Sunday School, I did not fully realize the value of church membership. Although at that time a church member, I did not attend regularly either services or meetings. However, steady reliance on Christian Science for healing of every kind was maintained. Shortly thereafter I left home and went to work and to school in a neighboring city. During this time the protective power of Love was ever there guiding me through dangers unknown.
