The Importance of Spiritual Invincibility

From the May 1967 issue of The Christian Science Journal

One's understanding of the spiritual invincibility that belongs to his true individuality as the image of God, good, and his expression of this invincibility in his thinking and life help him over the rough spots in his human experience and bring him spiritual blessings.

The study and practice of Christian Science reveal that the nature of God is wholly good and that one's real identity, which is God's reflection, is also wholly good. When one realizes the invincible good constituting genuine being, he can utilize the healing power of the Christ. Proportionately as he awakens to the spiritual nature of being, he demonstrates the presence of changeless good in place of discord, fear, loss, sickness, or sin.

Mrs. Eddy discovered that spiritual reality is ever new yet changeless substance and that true individuality is forever untouched by the mortal sense of life and identity. She says: "The temporal and unreal never touch the eternal and real. The mutable and imperfect never touch the immutable and perfect. The inharmonious and self-destructive never touch the harmonious and self-existent."Science and Health, p. 300;
