It is with gratitude that I testify to the healing power of Christian Science.
On one occasion I became suddenly ill after receiving disappointing results following many months of intense academic study in addition to normal employment. Being mentally depressed and physically weak, I hardly ate for nearly two weeks. I became ill at work and went home for two days, rested, and then struggled back again to work.
As I had relied on Christian Science all my life for healing, I tried to work the problem out through prayer in the way Christian Science teaches. My mental state argued forcibly that I could not do my own prayerful work. I was awakened somewhat from this dream by a colleague, who asked if I had been to a doctor. I appeared to him to be in a state similar to that of his cousin, who had had a bad attack of a certain disease. I promised my colleague that I would seek help, and that afternoon I telephoned a Christian Science practitioner.
