I felt the world weeping today, dear God.
I felt the world weeping.
And what could I do?
I could ask You—
first, how to keep from weeping, too;
next, for the precise divine idea
You have in Mind for me.
(This You show to every one.)
Then I can, mirroring Your purity,
stop some sad sleeping,
lessen world's weeping.
(This can be done by everyone.)
