Which Road Shall We Take?

From the February 1969 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Sometimes when driving our car, we arrive at a fork in the road where there is no adequate signpost. We then ask ourselves which road to take. Should we go to the right hand or the left? Without proper guidance our decision may be pure guesswork, and the result unsatisfactory.

Figuratively speaking, most of us reach many forks, many points of decision, on the pathway of life, and we may wonder if there is, in fact, a sure and certain guide for making right decisions.

Christian Science assures us that there is, that we do not need to grope about helplessly in worried frustration. We can learn to listen for God's guidance by first learning something of His nature and man's inseparable relationship to Him. Christ Jesus and other Biblical characters proved the unerring guidance of divine Mind, and the same changeless source of wisdom is present and active for us today. We read in the book of Isaiah, "Thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left."
Isa. 30:21;
