"One race"

From the February 1969 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Today more and more people are accepting the premise that all men should have equal opportunity. Much effort is put forth to make this concept practical in our daily lives, sometimes by means of new laws, sometimes even by physical force. Some human methods are helpful, but there is a harmonious, universal, and permanent way to recognize the spiritual fact of the equality of all God's ideas. Christian Science shows us this way.

This Science teaches us that man's only true identification is as the image and likeness of God. In Science and Health, in her response to the question "What is man?" Mrs. Eddy includes the following words: "Man is not matter; he is not made up of brain, blood, bones, and other material elements. The Scriptures inform us that man is made in the image and likeness of God. Matter is not that likeness. The likeness of Spirit cannot be so unlike Spirit. Man is spiritual and perfect; and because he is spiritual and perfect, he must be so understood in Christian Science." Science and Health, p. 475;

How can this concept of the spiritual man help us? How can we find the spiritual man? It is quite evident that mortals are born into certain families in different parts of the world, environed in a mortal community, and sometimes faced with many problems.
