Appointment of Thomas A. McClain, C. S. B., of Chicago, Illinois, as Manager of The Christian Science Board of Lectureship was announced by The Christian Science Board of Directors. Mr. McClain, who was appointed to the Board of Lectureship in June, 1962, has resigned from that post to assume his new duties.
Mr. McClain is a native of Louisville, Kentucky, and became a member of The Mother Church in 1939. He received Primary class instruction in 1940, and as a member of First Church of Christ, Scientist, Louisville, served as First Reader, member of the executive board, treasurer, and in other capacities.
Following service as a Christian Science Minister for the Armed Services at an Army post in the United States following World War II, Mr. McClain was appointed Committee on Publication for Kentucky in 1951. He had entered the public practice of Christian Science healing a year earlier. He was appointed an Assistant to the Manager of the Department of Branches and Practitioners in 1959, traveling widely in the United States and Great Britain in the interest of church activities. In 1964, he became a teacher of Christian Science. Mr. McClain will continue to teach his class and hold his association meetings in Chicago.
