All whose gratitude for Christian Science has led them to join The Mother Church and a branch church are aware of their joyful responsibility to preach the gospel, to share our "pearl of great price" Matt. 13:46; with the community. How great must be our consecration and our obedience to the directives of Christ Jesus and of our Leader, Mrs. Eddy! They have shown us how to carry out this important work and to defend its continued activity at all times.
At the beginning of his ministry Jesus charged the twelve, "Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not: but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel." 10:5, 6;
Mrs. Eddy clarifies this directive: "In this revolutionary religious period, the increasing inquiry of mankind as to Christianity and its unity—and above all, God's love opening the eyes of the blind—is fast fitting all minds for the proper reception of Christian Science healing.
