Christ Jesus said, "Ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). I have proved, in some degree, the practicality of this statement.
Several years ago, for reasons that are no longer important, I found myself on the verge of what is commonly called a nervous or emotional breakdown. I was filled with dark clouds of fear, doubt, and insecurity. The one bright spot during that time was our branch Church of Christ, Scientist. The love that is expressed there kept bringing me back to church when I might otherwise have given up altogether. I hope that we never underestimate the healing value of a smile, a handshake, or a kind word.
One cannot sit in church and listen to the words of the Bible and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mrs. Eddy, and of our beautiful hymns, without some glimmer of truth penetrating his thought, however clouded.
