My sister was taking music lessons from a woman who was a Christian Scientist. She asked the woman questions about Christian Science and came home and told us about it. I readily accepted what she said.
We had a baby cousin living with us who was ill with influenza just after World War I. My mother called a doctor. He said the child could live but a few days. He was too busy to care for another case. My sister told her music teacher about this. She gave us names of Christian Science practitioners to call. A practitioner was called, and she asked that we borrow Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy from a Christian Science Reading Room and that all in the family study the Lesson-Sermon every day, and also the ninety-first and twentythird Psalms. We did this. In two weeks the baby was healed.
We started to attend church, and I had a few years in the Christian Science Sunday School.
