As the Psalmist says, "I love the Lord, because he hath heard my voice and my supplications" (Ps. 116:1). Christian Science was offered to my mother about the time a divorce left her with my sister and me to raise and support. Its welcome effects were felt at once. Mother's progress in the study and application of Christian Science was so rapid that we never felt any sense of lacking either funds or a father. With such eager, receptive thoughts we found many kind friends supplying good in the form of art, music, and dancing lessons.
An early appreciation of the Christian Science Reading Rooms came about when I frequently stopped in on the way home from school to fill the time until Mother came home from college classes or work. An article on supply in a bound volume of the Christian Science Sentinel made such a deep impression that my needs have been met since that time!
I am most grateful for the happy companionship and loving support of my husband in rearing our two sons in Christian Science. The love, discipline, and freedom from many forms of limitation that Science instills are invaluable in solving family problems. My gratitude for receiving class instruction in Christian Science before the birth of our sons is unbounded.
