THE SERVANT

From the May 1970 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The greatest man that walked this earth
Was servant;
He knew the highest, deepest worth
As servant.
Who better knows how work is blest
Than servant?
To whom belongs the sweetest rest?
The servant.

May mankind heed this glorious call
For servant;
Not unto one but unto all
A servant.
May we know the humility
Of servant,
Forsake all else, dear Lord, and be
Thy servant.
