I wish to express my love and gratitude for the life and healing works of Christ Jesus and for Christian Science and Mrs. Eddy who shared it with the world.
When Science found me, I was a young mother. At that time I felt very insecure and incompetent in my new home and its surroundings. I had never affiliated with any church, as in those days it was very difficult to reach one due to country roads and lack of good transportation. But thanks be to God who moved us to the city, where my husband found steady work and I was introduced to Christian Science!
One morning my neighbor came to talk to me. During her visit she mentioned Christian Science. She had just begun to study Science and was very enthusiastic about the literature and the textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy. She asked me what church I attended, and I told her the one that was nearest me. She asked if I would be interested in reading some literature and gave me a Christian Science Sentinel. While reading it, I awoke to realize that this was what I had been praying for. It explained so clearly that God is Love and Mind, not a big man I could not see, much less reach, as I had believed, but One that was with us everywhere, every minute. I fell on my knees and thanked Him for His ever-presence, as I could feel a tenderness and kindness I had never felt before.
