Dear Shunammite! Courageously you stood
Affirming only all-persuasive good!
Repudiating human evidence,
Exalted vision, piercing mists of sense,
Beholds reality, and down the years
Enables others to surmount earth-fears.
For those who conquer evil will impart
New confidence to every fearful heart.
And mothers of today in crucial test
With arguments of evil manifest,
Standing with God, as did the Shunammite,
Perceive with joy the glory of His might
Is here and now. The child forever lives
In God, immortal Principle, who gives
Men life and breath. With firmness we deny
Opposing claims that fabricate a lie,
Acknowledging that God alone is power,
Who brings deliverance in every hour.
It shall be well. In silent trust we bear
True witness to His omnipresent care
Until we hear the heavenly benison
Of "It is well" again, "Take up thy son."
