The Christian Science Board of Directors announces the appointment of Gerald A. Newman, C. S., as Manager of the International Department.

Mr. Newman has been Assistant Manager of the International Department since 1966. He succeeds James Watt, C.S., Manager of the department since its establishment in 1966. The Board has granted Mr. Watt's request to devote full time to the study and public practice of Christian Science.

Mr. Newman, an active Christian Scientist for more than thirty years, joined The Mother Church in 1937 and received Primary class instruction in 1945. He has served in branch Churches of Christ, Scientist, as First Reader and as a member of an executive board and on various church committees. From 1963 to 1966 he was Committee on Publication for Northern India.
