Since my previous testimony was published in the Christian Science periodicals in 1938, my family and I have received countless proofs of the healing power of God—physical, mental, moral, and economic. The gratitude to God I feel for the precious gift of Christian Science is growing stronger day by day.
There have been valleys as well as summits, faults of character to be corrected, lessons to be learned, often through trials of various kinds, which still have always brought richer blessings of clearer spiritual insight, greater humility, and spiritual power.
Thus, many years ago, I suffered from a serious and lengthy case of liver complaint that did not yield until I replaced self-condemnation and self-pity with gratitude and joy.
