As I recall the fine healings my children and I have received through applying the truths of Christian Science, my heart overflows with gratitude to God. My mother was interested in Christian Science before I was born, and as a result of her training I have always been aware of God's love and nearness.
However, as a child I often suffered from sore throats, caused by swollen tonsils. While lying in bed, I often heard comments at home that I should be operated on for tonsil and adenoid trouble, but my mother always remained quiet. A Christian Science practitioner was asked to treat me each time this trouble appeared.
One time as a teen-ager I was again treated by a practitioner for this same problem, which seemed to be very painful. I was suddenly healed of this malady, and this healing took place over twenty-one years ago. This healing convinced me that God is able to heal mankind here on earth. I can never be grateful enough for the courage and strength God gave my mother in raising us children in Christian Science, in spite of very strong opposition in our family. It is without a doubt our greatest blessing.
