How Long?

From the April 1972 issue of The Christian Science Journal

"Why haven't I been healed?" In anguish the heart cries out for the answer when protracted healing makes it seem as if one may never be well again.

Christian Science healing is essentially spiritual regeneration. When one is lifted out of wrong modes of thought and action, the new view of flawless spiritual reality brings physical healing. This kind of healing could be likened to climbing a mountain. As one ascends, he looks out over a different scene, and the higher view gives new perspective.

At times one clear thought from a practitioner or friend can bring instant release to a sufferer. But though he may express gratitude, such a healing does not always bring regeneration. In fact, Christian Science has healed many who have not even followed its religious teachings after receiving their freedom. But those who turn to this Science for regeneration find that moral and spiritual growth results in eventual freedom.
