Each time a Christian Science periodical arrives, I turn first to the testimonies, and I have been helped so often that I know it is high time that I submit one of my own. I have had convincing evidences of the healing power of Christian Science in healings of pneumonia, sprained ankles, and the solution of human relationship problems. Two healings, which are somewhat related to each other, stand out in my experience.
The first healing was that of a painful swelling under one breast. I telephoned a Christian Science practitioner for help and said, "You had better pray to eliminate fear, as I am terribly frightened." His reply was, "We naturally pray to cast out fear first."
My fear, which was of cancer, disappeared, but the pain and swelling increased. Sleep seemed impossible and, finally, after about ten days of pain I telephoned a dear cousin who is also a student of Christian science and told her that I thought I would have to have the place lanced. Her reply was, "Go ahead if you want to, but you will lay yourself open to all the laws of material medicine."
