The Study That Solves Problems

From the October 1973 issue of The Christian Science Journal

A young woman had been trying to sell her house for a number of months. It was attractive and modestly priced, and the young woman couldn't understand why it didn't sell.

Then one morning a relative, a Christian Science practitioner, came to visit. Although she didn't ask for treatment through prayer, the young woman, an earnest student of Christian Science, did ask the practitioner how she might more effectively apply her understanding of Truth to this situation.

Before their visit the practitioner had been seriously studying a statement from Science and Health by Mary Baker Eddy. Because it seemed appropriate for the young woman's needs, she shared it with her. "To attend properly the birth of the new child, or divine idea, you should so detach mortal thought from its material conceptions, that the birth will be natural and safe."
