Of all those who love and support noble causes, probably none love any objective more than the Christian Scientist loves his Church. In the Manual of The Mother Church by Mrs. Eddy is this directive: "It shall be the privilege and duty of every member, who can afford it, to subscribe for the periodicals which are the organs of this Church." Man., Art. VIII, Sect. 14;
This requirement is characterized not only as a duty but also as a privilege. And what alert, consecrated student would want to be without those periodicals! Yet sometimes the periodical that animal magnetism would single out as being one the student could disregard, and still not neglect his duty or forgo his privilege, is The Christian Science Monitor.
Our Leader refers to the periodicals as "the organs of this Church." Surely the Monitor, prepared daily at the church publishing headquarters, is a vital organ. Can we separate our love for the Cause of Christian Science from our devotion to the support of one of its important organs? Hardly.
