Following her own healing in Christian Science a sister introduced this Science to us and gave us copies of The Herald of Christian Science(French Edition). We were favorably impressed with their contents, and they gave us a glimpse of the truth we were diligently seeking. The testimonies of healing enabled us to understand that everything is possible to God, since He is All-in-all. A healing I had vainly sought for years finally appeared possible to me.
I had left Paris because of my health, which was going from bad to worse because of nervous depression and a stomach ulcer, causing me extreme suffering for more than ten years. I had lost more than thirty-five pounds and fed myself like a baby, on gruels, which even then I could not keep down. My sleep was affected. The doctors recommended an operation, and quickly. I wanted to think about it. I decided to contact a Christian Science practitioner for healing, as well as for that pure truth we had sought for so long.
The appointment made, I had to drive about sixty miles to get there. But it was as though error seemed resistant to this truth I was setting out to find. I had never seen such a storm on the highway, and my health was at its worst. At the appointment the practitioner spoke to me for more than an hour with love and conviction of the Christ, Truth. She helped me understand the nothingness of evil and my true sonship as the perfect child of God.
