More than thirty-five years ago I had been suffering intensely for a whole year but had not consulted a doctor. My right shoulder blade was growing upward, was approximately four inches higher than the other and very painful. The right arm was completely numb, and I could no longer put it behind me.
Since we were living on a farm and my sister made her home in the city of Taquari, she advised me to come to the city because there was a man who visited there from Porto Alegre who healed through prayer. I followed my sister's advice, and together we went to see this man. He was very kind to me, and at my request he talked to me of God and read from the Bible. I obtained a Bible from him, and he marked passages for me to read at home. He also gave me some other literature to read. I followed his instructions. I made five trips of nine kilometers each by horseback to see him. I was healed !
We then forgot these visits, and the healing was almost forgotten. I was able to do heavy work again. At the time of my healing my daughter was a baby. In 1960, when she was married, we learned that her husband attended a church that accomplished healings by study and prayer. He also told us that the followers of this healing religion would not take material medicine for healing but relied on prayer. We again recalled my healing. My husband said, "That's something similar to your case many years ago, when your shoulder blade was healed." Again, the incident was forgotten.
