From what I have proved of Christian Science, I am sure it is possible for anyone to "be born again" (John 3:7), regardless of age, race, or present physical and moral conditions.
At the age of seventy-two, in desperation I started to study the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, persistently. The results were amazing. The first five hours' continuous study of the chapter on Prayer healed me of compulsive drinking, and a few days later, further study healed me of heavy smoking. For many years I had tried using willpower to give up these false habits, but without success.
In a few weeks many physical problems, such as a heart condition following a coronary thrombosis, high blood pressure, a nervous condition, depression, headaches, indigestion (for all of which I was taking medicine regularly), disappeared when I relied solely on the truths in Science and Health. These healings of mine came through my study of the book, as did those whose healings are recounted at the end of Science and Health in the chapter entitled "Fruitage."
