The Christian Science Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Miss Corinne LaBarre, C.S.B., of Portland, Oregon, as Manager of the Department of Branches and Practitioners of The Mother Church. Miss LaBarre succeeds Charles Louis Reilly, C.S.B., whose appointment to the Board of Directors was announced recently.

Miss LaBarre has been serving as Administrator of the Christian Science Benevolent Association at Chestnut Hill. She is a Journal-listed practitioner and teacher of Christian Science. Prior to her service at Chestnut Hill she lived in Portland, Oregon. Before entering the full-time public practice she had a career in personnel work, including service as Personnel Director of the Oregon Public Welfare Commission. She received her M.A. in Personnel at Claremont Graduate School, Claremont, California. She will continue to teach her classes and hold her association meetings in Portland.

Mrs. Virginia Nichols Chancey, C.S., of Dallas, Texas, has been appointed to succeed Miss LaBarre as Administrator of the Benevolent Association at Chestnut Hill. Mrs. Chancey, who is active in the public practice of Christian Science, recently completed service as Second Reader of The Mother Church. She is a native of Missouri and attended the University of Texas and Texas Christian University. During World War II she served in Washington, District of Columbia, as Executive Officer of the Spar Command, United States Coast Guard Women's Reserve.
