The Present Possibility

From the April 1975 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Christian Science teaches that what is to be proved true at any time is actually the present fact, for Truth is not affected by the variables of time, place, circumstance, or chance. These factors are finite and human, whereas Truth is God—constant, immediate, reliable.

This unchanging ever-presence of Truth is the basis from which one can work out everyday problems through Science.

When facing sickness, one may think, "Oh, I know Christian Science heals, but I've been in this condition so long it will be a while before the healing is complete." Such thinking is detrimental to demonstration. It identifies us as mortals separated from God and living in matter. It identifies evil with us. Finally it empowers evil to assume recognized, habitual patterns of behavior.
