Fund for The Christian Science Monitor

From the April 1975 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In December of last year we shared with all members of The Mother Church some information regarding the financial condition of The Christian Science Monitor and announced new steps being taken to strengthen its financial status. We are grateful for the response from the Field, which has included many heartening expressions of support as well as generous financial contributions.

There is continuing need of sustained support to enable our newspaper to fulfill the unique purpose given it by its founder, Mary Baker Eddy. In view of this, and in response to many requests from members, we have established a Fund for The Christian Science Monitor, specially set up to receive contributions for the Monitor's operating expenses. The fund will continue until such time as revenues are sufficient to cover these expenses adequately.

Although the very substantial economies already made will go far in improving our newspaper's finances, the cost of preserving the Monitor's high standards of news coverage on an international basis makes additional financial assistance most welcome.
