From the Directors

From the January 1977 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Changing needs of the overseas field served by The Herald of Christian Science are necessitating some changes in format, content, and organizational procedures of the Heralds. These new developments are being planned and will be put into effect under the direct supervision of the Editor. As a result, the post of Associate Editor of the Herald has been discontinued, effective December 31, 1976.

Alfred F. Schneider, who held this post since 1972, came to Boston from Germany in 1959 and became Manager of the Translation Department in 1962. He served in that position until becoming Associate Editor of the Herald. We are taking this opportunity to express our deep appreciation for the faithful and effective service rendered by Mr. Schneider. We know the significant contributions he has made during his years at headquarters will continue to bless the overseas field, which he has served so unselfishly. He will continue to be active as a practitioner listed in The Christian Science Journal and The Herald of Christian Science.
