THE JOURNEY

From the January 1977 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Today, someone passed by, crying.
It could have been you,
or it could have been me,
but it wasn't.
Perhaps loneliness, pain,
or worse—being lost (to sin)
made them that way (for there are more than one)
all on different roads.
All roads lead one place,
to the Christ,
the idea of Truth,
man's perfect self.

Our light, shining,
will shorten their journey, has shortened it,
for the road is short
when we begin to understand
we are already there,
with Him, in Love.
No road, no journey.
Instant traveling!
