Divine law maintains perfect order

God-controlled systems

From the January 1978 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The word "system" implies order, an arrangement without which inharmony would set in.

In nature we see hints of the order that characterizes the systems of God's spiritual universe. The Psalmist sang, "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork."Ps. 19:1; And in another burst of praise: "Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence? If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there. If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea; even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me."139:7-10; Through spiritual sense we, too, can see and feel evidence of the underlying divine Principle of the universe.

Christian Science brings to light the fact that divine Mind, God, is not only the creator of all true form and identity, of all true systems and their functions, but the conditioner and controller of them. Because God is Spirit, the only creator, all true systems must be spiritual. Mortal belief, or false education, would have us accept as true its distorted concept of God's systems. These divine systems are never dependent upon matter. They are always in, and governed by, Mind, divine Spirit.
