When I was a very small boy, my mother shared with me truths of God and His care for man that she was learning from the Bible, and Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy. This made me aware of God as our Father and Mother, divine Love, who provides all good to His children.
Training I received in the Christian Science Sunday School strengthened this spiritual influence. Happily, I continued in the Sunday School until I was twenty. This early instruction has had a strong influence for good in my life. My appreciation for it is deep.
A few years after my Sunday School training began, I felt Truth's healing power. At the time, I was about seven years old. I was thrown from the open cab of a delivery truck. Concerned neighbors saw me as I lay on the curb, unconscious and obviously injured. As soon as Mother learned of the accident, she had me taken to the home of a Christian Science practitioner nearby, who gave me Christian Science treatment.
