Trusteeship established for the Chestnut Hill Benevolent Association

From the October 1979 issue of The Christian Science Journal

We are pleased to announce a forward step in the administration of the Christian Science Benevolent Association Sanatorium at Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts, which is designed to increase the healing mission and efficiency of that facility in serving the northeastern region.

A trusteeship has been established by this Board under Article I, Section 8, of the Manual of The Mother Church by our Leader, Mary Baker Eddy, to provide for administration of the facility by representatives of the northeastern region. The seven trustees will serve within guidelines provided by the Board of Directors, who will approve, at this stage, all major decisions, and who will oversee continued financial support of the facility by The Mother Church.

Each of the trustees is an active Christian Scientist experienced in one or more of the areas relating to the operation of such a facility, such as the practice of Christian Science, business management, hotel management, and architecture. The trustees will give concerted attention to major decisions regarding the present physical structure at Chestnut Hill, the improvement of facilities for the Nurses Training School, and the overall service provided by the facility to Christian Scientists in the region.
