Are you being healed in church?

From the February 1979 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Individual healing should be one of the natural and inevitable outcomes of a Christian Science church service. People go to church for many reasons. Sometimes the reason is a deep-felt gratitude for all that Christian Science has brought to their lives. Perhaps we see our attendance as a unique way to bring healing to the community—even the world. Maybe there are a few who come—well, just because they have always come. Whatever the reason, we should expect to be healed.

The Christian Science service is designed to encourage healing. Lesson-Sermons draw the listeners close to God and waken thought to His goodness. A strong feeling of love is inspired within the congregation. There is a sacred sharing together, through the various facets of the service, of insights into the reality of being.

Many other factors contribute to healing. One in particular should not escape our attention, even our consistent appreciation. It has to do with structure.
