Liberation from limitation

From the February 1979 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Since God is Mind, Mind is divine. And since God is infinite, there is but one Mind.

The supposition that substance and action can be finite leads to the unwitting formulation of a sham substance called matter and of a perverted source of action termed energy, both of which appear to be convincingly real. The whole view of a physical universe, material organisms, and brains responding to sensation rests on this unhappy blunder.

As Christian Science makes clear, these notions are held in a false mentality, not in actual Mind, God. They have only the persuasive illusiveness of a dream, in which material happenings seem very real, although they are not factual. When thought breaks away from the finite dream, with its bounds and limits, and reaches toward the infinite, then supposed laws of matter, physiology, and psychology begin to lose their specious authority, yielding to the law of good, God, which is absolute and supreme.
