No broken home

From the March 1980 issue of The Christian Science Journal

Home is not really a comfortable apartment, a shack, a room in a ghetto, a mansion, or a few feet of space on the sidewalk. It isn't a material structure or place or environment at all, nor is it made up of personal relationships. The place where you and I are at this moment, and every moment, is in the consciousness of Love—that is, our Father-Mother God's consciousness of us as His beloved children, His spiritual ideas.

Could Love's idea ever leave Love's consciousness? Impossible! Could Love ever have an idea that is unlovely or unloved? Never! In Science and Health Mrs. Eddy gives the spiritual sense of the twenty-third Psalm. The last verse reads, "Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house [the consciousness] of [love] for ever."Science and Health, p. 578; Love's consciousness is universal, all-inclusive. There are none outside it, and all within it have one Mind, one Principle, one Father-Mother; all are one family.

Divine Mind is never separated from its idea, man, for idea always exists in Mind. Paul expressed this fundamental truth when, speaking of God, he told the Athenians, "In him we live, and move, and have our being."Acts 17:28; God is infinite Love, the divine Principle of man, and man is forever held in Love's knowing of its own ideas. Love is conscious of the goodness and indestructibility of all its ideas. There is no place in the consciousness of Love for discord, fear, or pain. Divine Love knows no lack, because it is infinite and supplies all good, always. Love knows no misunderstanding, because it is the divine, all-knowing Mind. Love knows no separation, only the unity of Principle and its ideas.
