Heal the inmost fault

Have you been praying for a healing? Take courage. "Why?" we may ask, if healing seems delayed. "What more should be done?" Have we searched the secret chambers of thought? Have we prayed, "Cleanse thou me from secret faults"?Ps. 19:12;

Secret faults are hidden sin. Sin is generally considered to be the crime and violence, immorality and evil, abroad in the world, but this is not all of it. Sin is every thought, word, and impulse in human consciousness that is unlike God.

Although our uppermost thinking is apparent in our daily words, contacts, and activities, what lies beneath the surface in the inmost thought? Secret fears and frustrated hopes, suppressed hurts and discouragement? All bring unhappiness and distress. How important to be alert to Mrs. Eddy's counsel: "Watch, and pray daily that evil suggestions, in whatever guise, take no root in your thought nor bear fruit. Ofttimes examine yourselves, and see if there be found anywhere a deterrent of Truth and Love, and 'hold fast that which is good.'
