God's "itinerary"—available for instant contact

From the June 1982 issue of The Christian Science Journal

The belief that man can be separated from God is a main cause of discord and suffering. It is always possible to know what God is, where He is, and how to communicate with Him; and this understanding grows as one becomes mentally attuned to the facts of spiritual being revealed in Christian Science.

Individuals engaged in business entailing considerable travel know that one of the important things to be done before embarking on a trip is to prepare an itinerary. This is usually left with those needing to know where one might be reached each day. It would be quite frustrating to people who need to know of the traveler's whereabouts to be given only the general direction of travel, or a city alone. One must be specific in detailing where one can be reached.

Since God, Spirit, can't be identified (that is, found) through any material apprehension of His being, there is only one specific "itinerary" through which God can be found and communicated with at all times—and that is through spiritual sense. The Bible records how Job, uttering puzzlement over God's whereabouts, exclaimed, "Oh that I knew where I might find him! that I might come even to his seat!"Job 23:3.
