Healing pain by excluding, resolving, replacing

From the June 1982 issue of The Christian Science Journal

In a courtroom, a defense attorney interviewing jurors to serve on a case involving physical injury learned that one of them was a student of Christian Science. He asked her, "Do you think pain is real? "

"It certainly is real to one experiencing it," she replied. Her answer satisfied the lawyer.

A Christian Scientist compassionately knows that pain is not simply imaginary to one who is frightened and suffering. And yet, even while pain seems so powerful, Christian Scientists are proving its unreality by healing the conditions that give rise to it.
