Jonathan and David enjoyed a give-and-take friendship.
Although Jonathan was the son of King Saul, and David was the son of a commoner, Jesse, they accepted each other as completely equal. It was Jonathan's humility and David's understanding of his individual worthiness that allowed such a balanced friendship.
Through Christian Science we can learn how to see each other as individual ideas, complete in our reflection of God, Mind. Recognition of this mutual completeness brings to our dealings with each other a balance of disposition, joint decision-making, reciprocal support, and common harmony.
