I would like to bear witness to the redemptive power of Christian Science by giving this testimony.
Years ago, when I was living in Austria, I witnessed a remarkable Christian Science healing. I made inquiries and was directed to the local Christian Science Society. A member there advised me to read the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, and invited me to attend church services, which I did. Inspired by the members' outstanding healing activities, I was drawn right into the church's healing work. Thus within a relatively short period after my introduction to Christian Science, I found it natural and easy to turn to this Science for healing. Through my own prayers I was quickly freed of rheumatism, frequent headaches, and the tendency to catch severe colds. Also, a case of apparent food poisoning yielded quickly to Christian Science treatment.
When our son, who was seven years old at the time, fell through the ice into a pond, he contracted pneumonia. The condition was diagnosed but not medically treated by the local physician of a small Austrian village, whom my mother had called in my absence. For many hours I prayed for the child and pondered truths from Science and Health. I denied the evidence of the physical senses and affirmed our son's spiritual identity and his inseparability from his divine Parent.
