There is only one divine Principle, God, and only one divine teaching of that Principle. Through His Christ, Truth, God has revealed Himself, His all-controlling laws, and His perfect creation, including spiritual man. The Bible, and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health by Mrs. Eddy, record this teaching and show how it is applied to meet human needs.
Ultimately there is only one Teacher, too: divine Mind, Life, and Love. Because Christ Jesus thoroughly understood and demonstrated divine Principle, God, he taught more effectively than anyone the world has ever known. In Jesus' relationship to his immediate followers, we can trace how the Master attracted disciples and taught them to teach in turn. He who trusted God implicitly to fulfill His own revelation said: "It is written in the prophets, And they shall be all taught of God. Every man therefore that hath heard, and hath learned of the Father, cometh unto me."John 6:45.
With God's revealed Word to study and the presence of God, acting through His eternal Christ, to teach us, why do we need Primary class instruction in Christian Science? Mrs. Eddy asks: "Why do we read the Bible, and then go to church to hear it expounded? Only because both are important." And she adds farther on, "You are benefited by reading Science and Health, but it is greatly to your advantage to be taught its Science by the author of that work, who explains it in detail."Miscellaneous Writings, p. 35.
